One eighteen year old, doing something more insane than noble.

I am one of those irritating middle class do-gooder gap year students who is off to allay their guilt at growing up with a silver spoon in their mouthes whilst thousands of others all over the world struggled to eat once a day, let alone gain an education. From October 20th, I will be living and working in an orphanage in Thailand, attempting to Grow Up before I begin studying English Literature at university in September next year.

This is, of course, utterly stupid and impractical of me considering my terrible tendency towards home sickness, my reluctance to leave my comfort zone EVER, my dependancy on wireless internet access for my emotional stability and my addiction to certain British TV shows.

Still - I'm always up for a laugh.

Essential Facts:
1. Like so many people in the world, is not American. (Born and raised in Scotland).
2. Shows a distinct prefereance for pretty girls over pretty boys (for the most part).
3. Lost father at age of thirteen (by which is meant - daddy dearest popped his clogs; not that he was merely misplaced in a supermarket some years ago and may or may not still be waiting for her return somewhere between the icecream and frozen peas in the freazer isle).
4. Is liable to miss her cats more than most of her human acquaintances.
5. Writes.
6. Enjoys Robin Hood and would quite like to have babies with the actress who plays Marian.
7. Is the only eighteen year old in Britain who prefers Radio 4 to Radio 1 and does not own a mobile phone.
8. Will be keeping house rabbits (whether or not her mother approves).
9. Tends to irritate people by singing a lot.
10. Is a drama queen.
